Zigarats are a brand-new post grunge band with hints of punk and metal genre. They are made up of the 4 members, Ben Dredge (lead vocals and guitar): Fraser Petersen (lead guitar and vocals): Jamie Stacheel 16 years old son of late Adam Stacheel from local Brisbane punk band 'The Irrits' (bass and vocals): Dane Peterson (drums).

As Jamie says, to name just only a few, their influences include bands like Siverchair, Nivarana, Weezer, Green day, My Chemical Romance and System of a Down.

About the songs themselves, Jamie surmises their tunes 'Brain Dead', 'Billy' and 'Jinx', are 'pure teenage punk nonsense'. He says a few of their songs is up to individual interpretation, but they have been currently dedicating their song 'Rat Poison' to the LNP government.

'Rat Trap', is another song up to interpretation, and in Jamie's words 'W.T.R.L is literally about rats'.

Jaime says a lot of their songs can be categorised as alternative rock with elements of emo, indie, pop, punk and metal, as it can easily be seen they are an entire new element in today's local Brisbane music scene, drawing from so much vast influence, taking the stages of Brisbane by a storm!!
